I love this recipe so much, I whip it up in my kitchen at least once per month.  If you like egg dishes and especially quiche, you are going to LOVE this one.

With the mixture of feta cheese, crimini mushrooms, onions, and spinach, there is a special kick to this quiche that is quite unique.

I found this recipe in my “Food to Live By” Recipe book, by Myra Goodman.  This book is the official recipe book of the Earthbound Organic Farms in Carmel Valley.

This is definitely a keeper.  Hopefully you love it as much as we do!

Easy Huevos Rancheros

October 2, 2012 by Mom on the Make Leave a Comment

Mountain Man made these huevos rancheros for us this past Sunday.

They are so good, healthy, and easy to throw together, especially on a weekend morning.

I love starting my day with a delicious, protein filled breakfast.  With eggs and black beans, you are set for protein.

With the fresh cilantro and cilantro salad dressing, this protein dish becomes very flavorful.  You will look forward to the mornings you decide to make this breakfast.  🙂

Four Cereals You Should Be Eating

May 27, 2012 by Mom on the Make Leave a Comment

Favorite Cereals

Our Favorite Cereals

My family is definitely a cereal family, and we have a handful of cereals that have become staples in our morning ritual.

Luckily, there are some very tasty AND healthy cereals available today, so the task of starting your day in a healthy manner really is not that difficult.

The photo to the left is a picture of our most favorite cereals.

I know they are well liked, because they seem to be on my Ourgroceries app list for Trader Joes every week.

Below is a list of these yummy cereals:

Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Granola
Trader Joe’s Organic Honey Crunch n Oats
Barbara’s Shredded Spoonfuls
Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Granola

My favorite is the Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Granola.  SO yummy and so satisfying.  There are almonds, brazil nuts, crunchy flakes and dried fruit.

Mr. Bam-Bam loves the shredded spoonfuls by Barbara’s and Ms. Broadway loves the Pumpkin flax seed granola cereal by Nature’s Path.

Ms. Imagineer loves the Organic Honey Crunch n Oats as well as the rest of us.  We like mixing other cereals in with this one as well. The Shredded Spoonfuls works well with this cereal.

I love that Ms. Broadway puts the her pumpkin flaxseed granola onto her yogurt for a snack.  Just loaded with nutrients.  The shredded spoonfuls are great snack items for all three kids’ lunchboxes.

There is also another Barbara’s cereal called Shredded Oats which is popular in our house and is a fantastic snack food to put in a tupperware when you’re on the go with the kiddos.

What are some of your family’s favorite cereals?
