It seems that I am always finding a new treat at Trader Joe’s. And this past week was no different.
My two most recent finds are healthy and fabulously delicious. One of the items is great for a snack and the other is great for dinner.
Love this Healthy Snack
The first is the “Trader Joe’s Just a Handful of Go Raw Trek Mix”. I already love the “Just a Handful Trader Joe’s Almonds”, but this new trek mix, I like much better. The variety packed into this one little bag is amazing and the whole handful of goodies is a very healthy snack to get you through the snacking hours.
What is included in the handful?
Trader Joe’s Harvest Grains Blend
The Harvest Grains Blend can be a side dish or an entree if you add shrimp, chicken or lamb to the blend. It can also be a full meal with a tossed salad, as there is quinoa in the mixture which provides 6 grams of protein per 1/4 cup serving.
What’s in this special blend?
1. Israeli Style Cous Cous
3. Baby Garbanzo Beans
4. Red Quinoa
This blend is such a nice alternative to boring old rice. I like to make it with boiling chicken broth. The broth really kicks up the flavor and makes the dish a treat.
Last night, I had this blend with a nice tossed salad (with red peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots). Really quite delicious. Highly recommend. 🙂
