Love Quick Home Makeovers!

July 20, 2012 by Mom on the Make 1 Comment

Red Flower printSo, the huge wall in my living room has been driving me batty for the past few years.

It is very large and has a sofa and a piano resting up against it.  With both the sofa and the piano, it has been Really difficult to find the perfect piece of art  for this wall.

Do we hang one huge painting or print or several smaller ones?  Do we hang them in a line or in a stairstep or diagonal pattern?

Everything we tried just did not look right.

Until, two weeks ago, I was perusing through Overstock.com and checked out their art section.  I had never purchased art from them before, but decided to check it out.

There is a LOT of cool stuff there.

You know when you’ve been searching for the perfect home decorating item to finish a space in your home for SO long, that when you see the perfect answer, you just know it.

Well, I knew when I saw this set of four beautifully matted prints, that the colors and size were perfect.  I thought that the four prints would help tie the whole wall together and would complement the area rug and white trim in our living room.

I hit the submit order button within 10 minutes of seeing these prints.  Crazy quick decision for me.  I usually discuss these types of purchases with Mountain Man, then hem and haw over it for a few weeks, then maybe decide to go for it, but usually not.  So sure was I about these prints, the “submit order” button was not scary at all.

And, so relieved was I when Mountain Man came home on the delivery day to find these prints ready for hanging, and there were no negative comments from him about the prints.  In fact, he looked at them from all angles, and said “yes, these should work”.

Don’t you just love quick room makeovers?  The kind of makeover where you really only need one more item to FINALLY pull a room together.  So happy.  🙂

Do you have any quick makeover ideas to share?  Would love to hear them!
