Waterslide Parks – Family Outings at their Best

Waterslide Park Family Outing

Waterslide Park Family Outing

So, Mountain Man and I took the kids to the waterslides yesterday and had a ball.   It was so fun to watch my three kids interact with each other and break off in twos to ride the tubes down the slide together.

With Bam-Bam only being 4 1/2, sometimes he can’t keep up with his 10 1/2 and 8 1/2 year old sisters, but at the waterslides, no problem whatsoever.

We went to a waterslide park that really focuses on the under 12 set, so the slides were all a manageable size, and I didn’t have to worry about the kids getting tossed too much on their rides.

Water Safety is a Wonderful Milestone

There was actually about an hour and half period where I was able to sit peacefully in the shade and enjoy reading my book.  So nice.  I think this is our first trip to the water park where I have not felt the need to hover at all times around Bam-Bam.  Finally, he is water safe!  Yay!  Also, Mountain Man was running around with him, but still, I wasn’t worried as I usually am around water with him.

It is just such a great, freeing feeling every time we reach a new milestone with our little ones.  Water safety is a BIG one.

I really loved watching Broadway run around with Bam-Bam hand in hand and ride the double tube together and high five him for being so brave.

Loved watching Imagineer and Broadway bond over the getting across the treacherous leap pads.  With the leap pads, you have to hold onto a rope and move from one moving leap pad to another without falling off.

They madeWaterslide park me try to cross twice.  The first time was a Big No Go. But, in the spirit of demonstrating to my girls that you should not give up so easily, I tried again.  I did it!  Of course, I did it by scooting along on my backside, rather than standing, but that is just fine.  The point is, I made it!!  🙂

More Family Outings are In Order

I need to find more outings that gives my little ones a safe space to break off in twos and bond with each other.  It really was a very special day.  They all want to go again.  Yippee!  Thats definitely the sign that fun was had by all.  🙂

Have to run now.  We are off to the San Francisco Zoo today for round two of our summer zoo visits.
