I’m sitting on my chocolate brown microfiber sofa that rests against the large gold colored wall of my living room.
To my right is a very large picture window covered by crisp white plantation shutters.
A few of the shutters are slightly opened just enough to let the rays of the early morning sunshine into my living space.
I can see my front yard through these shutters and am admiring the thick green grass covering the small hill that slopes down to the fancy brick mailbox.
There are three maple trees to the left of the mailbox that are blowing in the soft breeze.
The rumble of the sprinklers is quite strong at this time of the morning as the front yard enjoys a cascade of flowing water.
To the left of my sofa, is our brick fireplace that is surrounded by painted white built in shelves and cabinets.
The section of the built ins above the fireplace provides three display shelves on each side. On the left side, the shelves are adorned with hard bound books secured in place by ten inch tall cream colored wooden pears. The background of these shelves is painted a dark forest green.
On the right side of the fireplace are three shelves that house glass vases and jars surrounding a family photo, with the same dark forest green background.
Directly above the fireplace is a wall space painted a brushed sage color and decorated with three tall and narrow picture frames filled with photos of our three kids.
To the right and left of the brick fireplace, in the section below the mantelpiece, are painted white drawers and cabinets with shiny silver handles.
The area rug in this room is filled with many colors including sage, gold, coral, brown, and olive. The design on this rug is comprised of flowers and vines sweeping through its 8 1/2 x 11 foot frame.
In front of me is the foyer, where we keep a sofa table that helps keep our shoes organized. At this moment, there are four sets of shoes: a pair of green crocs, bright blue crocs, white nike running shoes with aqua accents, and florescent aqua nike shoes with a florescent yellow nike check mark.
On top of the sofa table is an orange colored camelbak water bottle and a ceramic face of Frankenstein waiting to scare the next person who enters our front door.
Yes, its that Halloween time of year. 🙂
Your home sounds GORGEOUS! And I’m pretty impressed that you already have the Halloween decorations out!
Thank you so much. We have just put a few decorations out so far. Basically the ones that were easily accessible in our garage. I love our Frankenstein. 🙂
What a lovely sounding home and it is great to sometimes just sit back and take in our surroundings and appreciate what we have!
Kizzy recently posted..Goals – do you set them?
It really is nice to slow down and take the time to appreciate the details of our home. By writing about it, I realize what is special to me in my home and I appreciate it more!
