I want to punch someone

August 28, 2012 by Mom on the Make Leave a Comment

For the love of goodness, my local grocery store, please staff your meat counter with more than one person!

When there is no one there, customers cannot buy meat, and said customers can become very disenchanted, quickly.

My quick story…..

So, its the end of the day and I ran out to our local grocery store thinking it would be a quick 5 minutes in and out……

Only to find out, there’s no one behind the meat counter to help me buy my Wild Alaskan Salmon.  I had to walk through the swinging door that leads to the back to yell for someone.  Note: I don’t enjoy yelling at people, especially when I’m trying to get their attention so I can give them my credit card.

There was a person back there, but I couldn’t understand his response.  I just assumed he’d be right out.

Well, he wasn’t.  I just stood there unable to make a purchase.

I had to go back through the swinging door to the back again, and ask if someone could help.  He again gave me a look like he’d be right out.

Several minutes later, he finally showed up.  He was very pleasant, but by that point, it didn’t really matter, I was so steamed.  Really during RUSH hour at the store, when everyone is trying to get home with dinner, there should be at least two people staffing the meat counter.  This just seems like common sense.

I had that feeling today you get when you call the phone company, and you’re put on hold for 12 minutes, and forced to listen to a polite voice tell you that “customers are very important” to them. Then after the twelve minutes, the person you’re connected to happens to be not the right person for your problem, so they quickly transfer you to another department that has a 32 minute wait.  Arrrgghh!!!  You get the idea.

Maybe I just have a really short temper today, but seriously, this is just such poor customer service.

Thank you for listening to my rant. :0  I do feel better.
