I Love My New Kate Spade Handbag

January 8, 2013 by Mom on the Make 2 Comments

So, it was a few weeks before Christmas.  You know how there’s that one present that you see somewhere a week or two before Christmas, and you think to yourself, “if I find that gift under the tree, I’ll be so beyond happy, I really do not need anything else”.

You start to obsess about it a bit.  Hoping that the hubby took the hint and ran with it.  Hoping that you made it clear enough, in a non-pushy way of course, that this would make you super happy and that you really wouldn’t need anything else to count this holiday as a success in the gift giving department.

Well, this year, for me, it was the Brightspot Avenue Sally Crossbody Bag from Kate Spade in the iceberg color.  See below:

When I went to San Francisco to see Christmas decorations a few weeks before Christmas, we wandered into a Kate Spade store off Union Square.  The iceberg color captured my attention immediately.  Its a bright aqua, like you’ve never seen before.

I threw it over my shoulder, and loved how light and fashionable it felt, but I thought it might be a touch too small, seeing as how it is about 4 inches shorter, 3 inches narrower and 2 inches smaller in depth than my   black medium tote seatbelt bag.  Now, I love my seatbelt bags quite a bit, but when I saw this adorable petite little iceberg colored bag, I just fell in love.

I have been wanting to downsize my handbag situation for awhile.  Mountain Man is always telling me that I carry way too much with me.  He’s right.

So, I could not stop thinking about this purse.  I found it online, and sent Mountain Man the url for the exact page (I think I already had it in the cart for him too).  He needs a bit of hand holding.  To his credit, who is going to be able to pick out your perfect purse for you other than you?  I mean , seriously.

So, Christmas day arrives, and I saw a small box under the tree.  While taking off the wrapping paper, I could see the beautiful Kate Spade box with a red top and multi colored striped bottom.  The inside of the box revealed my new iceberg colored Kate Spade Sally crossbody bag.

My photo session with my new handbag below…….. (I know, a bit obsessed 🙂  )

We love Cutco knives. My hubby sold them in high school as a summer job, and we still use the knives he received back then, and that was over 20 years ago! I think you’ll enjoy them.
