Build a Bears Are Great for Creative Play

Build a Bears

Imagineer and Bam-Bam’s collection of Build a Bears

In these last two weeks of summer, we are without swim practice and meets, so its been really cute to see how the kids entertain themselves with so much free time on their hands.

Broadway enjoys riding her bike around with her friends, but Imagineer and Bam-Bam are content creating imaginary worlds with their Build a Bears.

The other day, their bears went to school, then to the movies, then to a restaurant for a delicious hamburger dinner.  All of these stops were created in their bedrooms, living room and kitchen.

A few days ago, one of the bears, named Almond, broke his arm and had to spend some time at the hospital.  Luckily, there was a nurse around to fix the break.  The nurse was Imagineer with a homemade nurse’s hat.

I did not realize how many accessories are now available for Build a Bears.  There are casts, glasses, costumes, shoes galore, overalls, dresses, etc….

Imagineer really wants the Smurf Build a Bear, but our local Build a Bear only had the Papa Smurf and Smurfette.  She wanted the classic Smurf.  Oh well.

I just love creative play.  It just makes my day watching my little ones create whole worlds.
