The Mom Behind Mom on the Make

Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere.  Hope you enjoy your visit…

Here’s a little bit about me……

I worked in the corporate world for 8 years before becoming a full time Mom.  My field was investment management.

My career was going well, but when baby #1 entered our lives, my husband and I decided that I should stay home with our little one.  We figured that the early years of our children’s lives would be a blip on the radar in the grand scheme of things, and we did not want to miss out.

So, I quit my job and career, and became a domestic engineer and full time Mom.  My friends and I think domestic engineer is a really funny job title for those of us that decided to stay home.  It makes us laugh, so we keep saying it.

Below are some of my likes and dislikes as well as random thoughts…..

I love going to the wine country with my hubby.

Visits to the beach with my family are the best.

I am crazy about my three kids and relish family time the most.

I wish we could be more consistent with 8pm family reading time.

But, sports practices get in the way.

I really do not like it when the checker at the grocery store asks how my day is going.  They don’t really care, and I find it very annoying.

Exchanging pleasantries with people I barely know, is really tedious for me.

I enjoy real conversations.

I can’t stand waiting in lines.

Grumpy people at airports make me sad.

I love the warm waters of Hawaii.

Milk chocolate almonds are the greatest healer.

Walks with friends are better than any paid therapy session.

Part of me wants a career again, and part of me wants to continue my career as a full time Mom and domestic engineer.

I struggle with finding the “right” job to re-enter the workforce.

My job before kids was all consuming, so I need to explore other fields.

I love pistachio almond and chocolate peanut butter ice cream from Baskin Robbins.

Date nights are critical for staying in touch with the hubby.

Getaways are even better.

Hugs from my kids are the best.

Its overwhelming to watch how fast my kids are growing up.

I love almost all egg dish recipes.

I’m trying to eat more veggies.

I wish my skin would glow.

I need to swim more and stop complaining about getting up so early for workout.

Why am I always so tired?

Saint Bernard puppies are just about the cutest things in the world.

I love cinnamon bears and lemon drops.

I can’t stand doing laundry.

My favorite actors are Colin Firth, Jason Segal and Will Ferrell.
